Season 1 Compilation Synopsis:
Japan, a nation plagued by kaiju. Kafka Hibino, a sanitation worker, reunites with his childhood friend Mina Ashiro—now the rising star of the Defense Force—and reignites his abandoned dream of joining their ranks. But just as he resolves to try again, he gains the monstrous power of “Kaiju No. 8.” With the help of his junior, Reno Ichikawa, Kafka hides his identity while tackling the Defense Force’s entrance exams and his first real battles, steadily advancing toward his dream. However, when a mysterious, highly intelligent kaiju launches a devastating attack on a Defense Force base, Kafka is forced to make a critical choice that will shake his world…

“Hoshina’s Day Off” Synopsis:
A day off—a rare moment of respite for Defense Force members. Reno, whose relentless training has left him forgetting how to relax, senses something unusual about Hoshina during their shared day off and teams up with Iharu to tail him! But the situation takes an unexpected turn…?!
